911
Edition 50 Years
Porsche Design .
Iconic: the legendary shape of the 911 meets the puristic character of the Chronograph I. The anniversary model has a limited run of 750 units and features a timeless sports car design with the standout elements of an iconic timepiece. It is a continuation of the success story of the 911 and a unique watch manufacturer.
Timeless design, contemporary interpretation.
The shape of the 911
Carrera is unmistakable because of its iconic flyline and elegant roof lines. These have characterized
Porsche since 1963, as have sports cars with astonishing performance.
The harmony of tradition and modernity—the iconic flyline and the continuous light strip.
Car body shapes.
Coupé.
The Coupé version of the 911 embodies Porsche DNA in its purest form: the long, flat bonnet, the steeply inclined windscreen. And the roof line that slopes gently down towards the rear, already characterized the original 911.
Cabriolet.
The open-top variant of the 911 has always been characterised by a heightened feeling of freedom and plenty of fresh air. When closed, the Cabriolet has the elegant silhouette of the 911 Coupé models – thanks to its fully automatic fabric hood.
Targa.
The most stylish 911 model has the addition 'targa'. With its characteristic Targa bar and innovative roof concept, the 911 Targa is a timeless classic. And at the same time it is an open-top variant of the 911 with the comfort of an enclosed car.
Sporty, ergonomic, timeless: the cockpit with GT sports steering wheel, instrument cluster, and sports seats plus.
Adrenaline at the push of a button: Sport Chrono package incl. mode switch and stopwatch on the dashboard.

An icon in a world full of icons.
The design of the 911 is timeless and its design language is universal because the principle behind it keeps it to the absolute essentials, right down to the last screw. Form follows function. The 911 continues to bring this tradition into the future with its long lineage.
The exterior in detail.
A design that unites traditional and modern. That ensures more dynamism on the road. And causes a sensation for everyone who follows the 911.
Design DNA.
Typically 911: the long, flat hood, the steeply inclined windshield and the roof line that slopes gently down towards the rear. The fenders are more clearly shaped, the rear is powerful and clearly emphasizes the horizontal.
Light strip.
The seamless light strip with LED technology between the three-dimensional LED taillights characterizes the appearance of all 911 models. And makes them unmistakable, even at night.
Targa bar.
An eye-catching and defining element of the 911 Targa models: the roll-over bar. It and has its own iconic character: with bar trims made of aluminum, lateral gills and the original 'targa' logo.
Wheels.
Agile and progressive: the 911 also appears particularly athletic due to the different wheel sizes at the front and rear. The up to 20/21-inch wheels offer more stability and comfort with the larger diameter on the rear axle.
Front headlights.
The shape and position of the main headlights are also reminiscent of the first 911 generations. The latest LED technology is used inside them.
Hood.
The hood with its characteristic dynamic recess profiles – and its straight slope to the front fascia – is a reference to the earlier 911 models.
Door handles.
The new door handles are partially recessed into the doors and are therefore discretely integrated into the car's image.

Tradition meets innovation: the interior.
Analog precision combined with digital integration. The 911 interior combines old strengths with new possibilities and, as a sports car, is one thing above all: strictly designed for the driver.
360 degree 911: Interior design.
The interior in detail.
Sports car ergonomics.
The analog tachometer is positioned in the center of the instrument cluster and, therefore, always in the driver's line of sight. The ascending center console ensures short distances between steering wheel and gear lever, and the intuitively placed switches and buttons. All for the unmistakable sensation of driving a 911.
Porsche Advanced Cockpit.
High-resolution displays and touch-sensitive buttons, as well as clearly structured functions and content. Thanks to the Porsche Advanced Cockpit control concept, the 911 interior has never been so focused. Typical sports car: the buttons, which have been consciously kept as analog buttons, offer direct access to essential drive and chassis functions.
Instrument cluster.
Left and right of the analog tachometer are two high-resolution 7-inch displays with essential vehicle information on four round instruments. To display purely driving-related content, a reduced view can be selected.
Porsche Communication Management (PCM).
Porsche Communication Management including online navigation is your central control center for audio, navigation and communication as well as for a variety of assistance systems. The latest generation also features a new display and operating concept.
Materials.
From the gear selector to the air outlet: every surface, every detail is carefully considered and in high quality. There is virtually no end to the combination of options of available material and equipment – your personal taste is the limit.
Built for the road that never ends.
Every 911 has the same fundamental aim: driving. As sportily as possible. That's why the twin-turbo horizontally opposed engine, the transmission, the chassis, the brakes and all the control systems are designed for one thing: the highest performance.
Model variants
Model variants | 4 | The '4' in the Porsche model designation represents the four driven wheels in all-wheel drive models. |
| S | At Porsche , the 'S' has always stood for 'sport' and enhanced performance. For the 911, this means increased engine output, as well as large brakes and wheels. |
| 4S | The combination of all-wheel drive and increased performance characterizes the Porsche '4S' models. |
| GTS | The 'GTS' on the 911: three letters that stand for further enhanced performance combined with an incredibly sporty specification. |
| 4 GTS | GTS: the combination of all-wheel drive, further enhanced performance and an incredibly sporty specification. |
Engine
Twin-turbo six-cylinder horizontally opposed engine.
The engine of the 911 models has a twin-turbo configuration. Its stand-out qualities: exceptional power across the speed range, extraordinarily direct responsiveness and a wide torque plateau, even at low speeds. The horizontally opposed construction, with its short length, low height and position in the vehicle rear allows for a low center of gravity. The engine mounts near the center of the car ensure greater stability and fewer vibrations.
Turbochargers.
The engines have two turbochargers and charge-air cooling. It's an important element of the exhaust turbocharging and greatly contributes to simultaneously increasing performance and reducing emissions.
Transmission
8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK).
The 8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) enables incredibly swift gear changes without interrupting the flow of power – in milliseconds. PDK combines a very sporty tuning in first to sixth gear with efficient overdrive ratios (seventh and eighth gear).
7-speed manual transmission.
The 7-speed manual transmission ensures an extremely direct link between driver and car: thanks to short distances with optimum connection between the individual gears. In conjunction with the Sport Chrono Package, the dynamic throttle-blip function in active Sport or Sport Plus mode ensures an even more emotional driving experience and sensational sound.
Porsche Traction Management (PTM).
All-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management (PTM) optimally distributes drive force between the permanently driven rear axle and the front axle. For excellent drive and an incredibly harmonious handling right at the limits.
Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus).
PTV Plus is a system intended to improve driving dynamics and stability. It works with a precise application of the brakes on the rear wheels and a rear differential lock. For increased stability, outstanding traction and high agility at any speed.
Chassis systems.
More – of everything. The chassis systems optimize the vehicle features of the 911 and make it even faster, more agile and more comfortable.
Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM).
PASM is an electronic damping control system that actively and continuously controls the damping force, depending on the road conditions and driving mode, for each individual wheel. For more comfort with increased dynamics.
PASM Sport suspension.
With PASM Sport suspension, the body is lowered a further 10 mm (0.39 in.) in relation to the PASM chassis. The springs are harder and shorter, the anti-roll bars on the front and rear axles are stiffer. The spring rates have been significantly raised, giving the 911 a more neutral and balanced presence on the road.
GTS-specific PASM Sport suspension.
On the 911 GTS Coupe and Cabriolet models equipped with PASM Sport suspension, the body sits 10 mm lower than the standard PASM suspension, the springs are harder and shorter and the rear axle has so-called helper springs. These additional springs, proven in motorsport, enable significantly more sporty spring rates – without limiting the spring travel.
Porsche Stability Management (PSM).
Porsche Stability Management (PSM) is an automatic control system for helping to maintain stability at the limits of dynamic driving performance. For a high level of driving stability – and extraordinary agility at the same time. In conjunction with the Sport Chrono Package, PSM is supplemented by a Sport mode. This allows a significantly more sporty driving style, with PSM remaining active in the background.
Rear-axle steering.
Rear-axle steering enhances performance and suitability for everyday use in equal measure; by improving the handling during low-speed maneuvers and making maneuvers and turns easier. At the same time, the rear-axle steering gives significantly more driving stability during high-speed maneuvers.
Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC).
PDCC is an active roll stabilization system. It suppresses lateral body movement when cornering dynamically. For improved dynamic performance, even more neutral handling and increased ride comfort.
Sport Chrono Package.
Adrenaline at the push of a button: the Sport Chrono Package with mode switch, Porsche Track Precision app and tire temperature display. Its functions enable an even sportier tuning of the engine, chassis and transmission.
Mode switch and Sport Response button.
The mode switch allows you to select different driving styles, e.g. increase the driving dynamics, save your personal preferences or aid driving on wet roads. The Sport Response button prepares the engine and transmission for a fast unleashing of power for approx. 20 seconds of maximum responsiveness.
Launch Control and motorsport-derived gearshift strategy.
The Launch Control function, with
Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) in the Sport Plus mode enables the best possible standing start. With the motorsport-derived gearshift strategy, PDK is geared up for extremely short shift times and optimum shift points for maximum acceleration.
Dynamic engine mounts.
This electronically regulated system minimizes perceptible oscillations and the vibration of the entire drivetrain, in particular the engine, so that the benefits of a hard and a soft engine mounting arrangement can be used. In short: it enhances both driving stability and driving comfort.
Porsche Track Precision app.*
With the
Porsche Track Precision app as part of the Sport Chrono Package you can very easily measure lap times and driving data – using your smartphone. To save, share or compare with other drivers.
Brakes.
The brakes are matched to the high performance of the 911 models. In the 911 Carrera models, four-piston aluminum monobloc fixed brake calipers grip 330 mm brake discs. In the Carrera S models, the front axle is equipped with six-piston aluminum monobloc fixed brake calipers, and four-piston equivalents at the rear. The brake disc diameter is adapted to the increased power output, 350 mm at the front and rear. The 911 GTS models have even more braking power: thanks to six-piston aluminum monobloc fixed brake calipers in red at the front and four-piston equivalents at the rear. The brake disc diameter: 408 mm front and 380 mm rear.
Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB).
Lighter, more stable, motorsport proven: the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) provides even greater braking performance thanks to ceramic brake discs with 410 mm diameter at the front axle and 390 mm at the rear axle. Another advantage: thanks to the extremely low weight of the brake discs, the traction and the comfort are significantly improved. The six-piston aluminum monobloc fixed brake calipers at the front, and four-piston units at the rear provide braking forces that are considerably more powerful and, crucially, are exceptionally consistent.
Rear seats.
Remarkably comfortable for a sports car: the rear seats. Thanks to the folding backrests, the rear storage compartment can be used for up to 9.3 cubic feet of extra storage space.
Luggage compartment.
100% suitability for everyday use: the luggage compartment volume of the 911 models is 4.6 cubic feet.
Comfort Access.*
Standard Comfort Access enables keyless opening of the 911. Approach the door handle from the side or with your hand under the Crest on the luggage compartment lid and the car will unlock and the door handles will automatically extend.
Roof systems.
Cabriolet roof.
The Cabriolet models also have the classic 911 silhouette. They are equipped with a fully automatic fabric roof. The roof can be opened and closed in approx. 12 seconds. Up to a speed of 31 mph. It has a fixed glass rear windshield and three integral magnesium elements that make it highly robust and yet particularly lightweight.
Targa roof system.
The Targa roof concept embodies the ideal combination of comfort and design. When standing, the completely automatic roof system of the 911 Targa models opens and closes in just 19 seconds. The heatable rear windshield made from weight optimized, composite safety glass and the sound-insulating roof lining ensure amazingly low driving noise when the car is closed.
Slide/tilt sunroof in glass.
The electrically adjustable slide/tilt sunroof, available for the Coupe models, creates even more space in your 911. A large area opens to the outside so that headroom is not restricted. The electric slide/tilt sunroof made of tinted toughened safety glass expands the sense of space, even when closed.
Sound systems.
Sound Package Plus.
Sound Package Plus delivers excellent sound in your 911: thanks to eight loudspeakers and a total output of 150 watts.
BOSE® Surround Sound System.
12 loudspeakers and amplifier channels with 100-watt subwoofers integral to the vehicle bodyshell characterize the BOSE® Surround Sound System. The total output: 570 watts. The BOSE® SoundTrue Enhancement Technology ensures high audio quality and dynamics for compressed file formats.
Burmester® High-End Surround Sound System.
Sound performance of the highest level, individually matched to your 911. 13 amplifier channels, 13 loudspeakers, an active, separate subwoofer with 300-watt class D amplifier. All together: 855 watts of pure musical pleasure additionally; improved by the sound enhancer that optimizes the tone of data-compressed music files.
Well connected – yet still completely independent.
We need to get the most out of every day. Porsche Connect* helps you do this. It puts you in the ideal starting position for every drive in your 911. And the services in the car and the My Porsche app for your smartphone are the perfect co-pilots for your everyday life.
Simply tap the Apple Music® icon on the touchscreen of your PCM to stream 70 million songs ad-free, search for playlists and listen to the best live streams from all over the world. You can even create your own radio station – with every song currently playing live. 911 drivers can use Apple Music® for up to six months free of charge.
Voice Pilot.
''Is the restaurant still open?'' Simply ask your 911. Many functions, such as looking for restaurants, the weather forecast or an alternative route can be intuitively controlled using intelligent voice recognition. You can also combine vocal and touchscreen commands. Say ''Hey Porsche, take me there!'' or tap the PCM screen to begin navigation.
Navigation Plus.
To ensure that you are always on the fastest route, Navigation Plus continuously accesses Real-time Traffic Information that is applicable to your specific location and produces a forecast based on historic data. Allowing you to avoid traffic jams, thereby saving time.
Light systems.
The main headlights and taillights of 911 models are fitted with cutting edge LED technology. For fast responsiveness and powerful illumination. An distinctive feature of all 911 models: the four-point daytime running lights and low beam, and the seamless light strip at the rear.
Even greater foresight is achieved with LED headlights featuring Matrix Design technology and High-Beam Assistant.
LED headlights with Matrix Design including PDLS+ also come with electronic cornering lights that optimally illuminate corners.
Your surroundings at a glance.
A rare luxury these days: being able to concentrate exclusively on what's directly in front of you. The open road. Or the next corner. The 911 provides you with support in the form of multiple assistance systems which allow you to remain truly in the moment.
Porsche InnoDrive incl. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Active Lane Keep (ALK).*
Regulates driving speed based on high-definition navigation data, radar, and video sensor technology in order to deliver typical Porsche driving feel, increased efficiency, and improved comfort. Driving speed is predictively adapted to speed restrictions and road topography (elevation changes, corners). At the same time, Porsche InnoDrive controls acceleration, deceleration, and gear selection (including coasting).
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
The system adapts the speed of your 911 depending on the distance to vehicle in front of you. If you approach another vehicle that is travelling slower than your selected cruising speed, the system slows the engine or gently applies the brakes. Even down to a halt. As soon as the road ahead clears, your 911 will accelerate back up to the cruising speed originally set.
Lane Keep Assist including traffic sign recognition.
Lane Keep Assist eases the burden on you by providing steering assistance, helping to keep the vehicle in lane. Traffic sign recognition displays speed limits, 'no passing' zones and indirect information, such as boundary signs, in the instrument cluster. The cornering notification displays an arrowed direction warning on the instrument cluster, alerting you to tight corners. Long before you reach them.
Night Vision Assist.
Night Vision Assist uses an infrared camera to detect pedestrians and large wildlife before they are illuminated by the headlights. A thermal image in the instrument cluster warns the driver.
Porsche Wet mode.*
With 'Wet' mode, the 911 uses an innovative system that aids you when driving in the wet. If the sensors in the front wheel housing detect wet roads, the system will recommend switching to 'Wet mode'. The chassis control systems and the responsiveness of the drivetrain will then be adapted to the circumstances.
Remote ParkAssist.
Remote ParkAssist combines a number of intelligent functions, such as remote parking. It makes it easier to enter and exit parallel and perpendicular parking spaces, as well as garages, using your smartphone. This Active Parking Assistance automatically detects parking spots and independently steers the vehicle backwards and forwards – supervised by the driver.
GTS. Three letters and the insatiable hunger for more.
As with everything you love, there is never enough. But simply the desire for more. Simply 'More of what you love'. And that is precisely the inspiration for the 911 GTS models: more power, agility and dynamics – and a unique sporty appearance. Or in other words: even more Porsche.
911 GTS engines.
Producing 353kW (473hp), the 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engines of the 911 GTS models represent the peak power of the 911
Carrera and
Targa models. This gives the 911
Carrera GTS a top track speed of 193 mph. And the 911
Carrera 4 GTS sprints from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package and Launch Control.
Front design.
Ahead of the pack: the Sport
Design front fascia with large side air intakes in black and the unique spoiler lip in black (grained) underline the performance credentials of the 911 GTS models. As do the tinted LED headlights including PDLS Plus and the clear rear lights.
Rear design.
Powerful down to the last detail: the Sport
Design rear section with extensive black trim, the Sport Exhaust System in stainless steel with tailpipes in black as well as the model designation at the rear in matte black. An additional feature of the 911
Targa 4 GTS: both the
Targa bar and the
Targa logo on the side are also finished in black.
Wheels.
Athletic: the 20/21-inch
Turbo S wheels forged from aluminum alloy with central locking in Satin Black complete the performance feel of the GTS. 245/35 ZR 20 tires at the front and 305/30 ZR 21 tires at the rear provides excellent traction and lateral force potential.
GT Sport Steering Wheel and instrument cluster.
Tangible emotion: with a thumb rest and 12 o'clock marking, the Race-Tex¹ covered GT Sport Steering Wheel with multifunction controls makes a clear reference to the motorsport genes of the 911. In direct view: the instrument cluster with centrally positioned analog tachometer and two high-resolution displays that indicate the essential vehicle information on four digital instruments.
Sport Seats Plus and GTS Interior Package.
The race-track-approved Race-Tex fabric is also used on the seat centers of the Sport Seats Plus. Another GTS-specific feature: the embroidered 'GTS' logo on the headrests. In conjunction with the optional GTS interior package, you'll receive the black Race-Tex interior with extended leather features plus decorative stitching and other elements in Carmine Red or Chalk.
Full Bucket Seats.
The optionally available Full Bucket Seats are made completely of carbon-fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) with carbon-weave finish. This provides especially good lateral support at minimal weight. The seat is covered in black leather – the seat center in perforated Race-Tex. A perfect finish: the 'GTS' logo on the headrests.
Other GTS highlights.
Sport Chrono Package.
Adrenaline at the push of a button: the Sport Chrono Package with mode switch, Porsche Track Precision app and tire temperature display. Its functions enable performance focused tuning of the engine, chassis and transmission.
GTS-specific brakes.
Maximum braking power: six-piston aluminum monobloc fixed red brake calipers at the front and four-piston aluminum monobloc fixed red brake calipers at the rear, and a brake disc diameter of 408 mm at the front and 380 mm rear, give the 911 GTS models even more braking power than the base and S models.
911 GTS-specific wheels.
In addition to the 20/21-inch 911 Turbo S wheels with central locking in Satin Black, optional 20/21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels in Satin Black are also available for the 911 GTS models.
Lightweight Package.
Thanks to targeted weight reduction, the optional lightweight package gives the 911 GTS Coupe models even more performance focus: including lightweight glass, Full Bucket Seats, the removal of the rear seats, reduced insulation, rear-axle steering and specific aerodynamic measures on the underbody. This reduces the overall weight of the vehicle by over 55 lb.
GTS exterior package painted in High Gloss Black.
The optional GTS exterior package painted in High Gloss Black adds special accents to the exterior. It includes: the SportDesign Package with SportDesign side skirts painted in High Gloss Black, exterior mirrors painted in High Gloss Black, 20/21-inch 911 Turbo S wheels painted in High Gloss Black and inlay slats in the rear lid painted in High Gloss Black.
GTS sound.
Is the open road calling? Then you should respond: ideally with the powerful sound of the Sport Exhaust System featuring tailpipes in a unique design. These will ensure a rich, captivating sound – mile after mile.
Watches and sports cars. Inseparably linked.
With the Sport Chrono Package with Porsche Design Subsecond chronograph, Porsche Design is returning to where it all began – in the car itself. And those who want to experience the unmistakable Porsche feeling on their wrist, can now find their perfect timepiece in the Sport Chrono Collection.
